On very rare occasion the mailman delivers something that I can get excited about. Today this book arrived... and I'M IN IT! The wonderful and sweet Lara McCormick approached me about contributing and  I'm over the moon about how it turned out. There are tons of really great examples of type from an array of talented folks, and I'm honored that I was able to be a part of it. I am pretty sure that I have some sort of disease that makes me think of a bunch of random things and I can not find any peace until I get it out of my head. This time around it has resulted in creating a set of flash cards illustrating my new version of ABC's. Words often represent more than their material literal counterparts, whether it stems from a metaphor, an idiom, pop culture, or plain old personal experiences. What I have created I suppose is a grab bag of all of those things, unleashing my damn dam, and flooding you with some dumb connections that are pretty self-serving and silly. I would say "enjoy" but I can't really promise that.

I'm not sure if there is a better to describe this than to simply say Bela Borsodi's "Alphabets" series is very clever. It's a boring description on my part but my adjective powers are failing today. You can see the other letters here.

font itch

I love a good font or creative alphabet as much as the next guy/gal. And pretty much every day I find myself faced with some new delight (beard font, tie alphabet, clothes-pinned skin, etc., etc.) when exploring the internet. It is with glee and much enthusiasm that I present to you this Jock Strap Font. Thank you Pier Gustafson for giving me what I never knew I needed and thank you for your glorious name.
