relapse risk: ostrich

I kind of need this, and I kind of really don't. There is however no doubt that I would very much like to try it. I somehow feel like Texas allergies and sack sleeping devices are a bad combo though.

For more info on Ostrich check it out here.

forever lazy

There's no way I could avoid posting this. It is the uniform for the lazy. You don't even have to take it off to go to the bathroom, and it comes with accessories. They really thought of everything. Well, almost. If it could also bathe you now that would be something.

lazy sunday

If you're one of the lucky ones then you're enjoying an extended weekend. Today though is the ultimate day of rest. So no house cleaning, no grocery shopping, no yard work. Relax, be lazy. This is when it's ok. And eat. BBQ time is upon us.

lazy pileup

Lately I feel like my laziness has reached proportions on par with Locked-In Syndrome. I am surrounded by my color coded lists, have a million and one things I would like to make, have a billion and one things I need to take care of, and of course one very big task of finding a job. I am failing miserably at Step #6. In the last few days I have managed to take a few pictures, wash my car, set up a digital converter box, bowl the best game of my life (a total fluke), and waste time on the internet. I need an intervention, an epiphany, or swift kick. Any volunteers?

this is terrible

It has sadly been about a week or so since I've gone to the gym. For some reason my body is making up for it by eating more. Makes sense. Hurray for fast tracking self-loathing! But I think I might have unearthed the motivation I need to get in gear, and frankly I probably don't even need to leave my house... not with The Silver Foxes and King Exercise, Richard Simmons, in my corner.

This terrific slice of workout inspiration was found on Everything is Terrible, which by the way for the last few weeks has been one of my absolute favorite sites to get lost in the most ridiculous examples of video/t.v./film/what-the-hell crap I have ever laid my eyes and ears on.

As an aside, what gives with SAL Pacino naming his kid AL. Really exploring the options eh.

tell me about it

I think yet again someone is spying on my life and translating it into their own creation. I'm glad I'm so inspiring.

sick days: things i had

AILMENTS:
• Fever
• Aching
• Tight Chest (i.e. breathing too deep may result in sharp cry aloud)
• Headache (i.e. skull too small for something that wanted to smash out of head)
• Cold Sweats (i.e. wet t-shirt contest, water bed, and constant pasty sheen)
• Swollen Eyelid (Minature Eyeliditus-- eye appears to be on backwards when closed, opens halfway when trying to see, limited visibility; look less like "bedroom eye" more like street brawler or Sloth)
• Muscle Pain
• Eczema (hi gross hand; also known as "insult to injury")
• Hair that morphed into Russell Brand's
• Coughing
• Grouchiness
• The Blues
• Bizarre Dreams
• Television Overexposure
• Fear of a myriad of possible undetermined/upcoming diseases as suggested by multiple viewings of The Doctors (vulnerable state of mind + with slight hypochondria = why the hell not go with worst case scenario); Damn you The Bachelor's Travis Stork
• Aging (sure, why not... one day in front of the other and there you go)

ELIXIRS:
• Theraflu
• Excedrin
• Advil
• Herbal Tea
• Benadryl
• Nyquil
• Band-aids
• Chicken Noodle Soup
• Ice Cream
• Water
• My Boyfriend
• Good Friends
• Unicorns
• Eye of Newt
• Toe of Frog
• Dachshund Cuddling
• Wishful Thinking
• Shamrock Juice
• Snake Venom
• Barry Gibb's Chest Hair
Family Feud

*Note -- I have to say that I have not been this miserable or sick in a very long time and I hated almost every second of it. The bright side is that I am deeply thankful for the health that I do have and very respectfully admire folks that bravely deal with much greater illnesses . And in all seriousness my silly bout with the flu (and random extras) was a nice wake up call in more ways than one.

summertime!

(photos by recovering lazyholic)

Summertime for the lazyholic is kind of like Kaliber to the alcoholic. Both can be dangerous gateways into relapse, teasing the weak back into full on "oholic" behavior. But when things go right it's sin wearing a halo and you have to trust that everything will be just fine and enjoy it. Snow cones and springs make nice accessories.

more of the same

On top of that, I am feeling sick. Boo hoo. Hope to update soon... and at the very least do something fun.

i am just "liberated"

"A new museum in Colombia is drawing the lazy. But it's by design: the exhibit is encouraging people to embrace laziness, liberating themselves from obsessions about career and work."

relapse risk

Here's a good one. Getting a new bed (i.e. real bed) will enhance your life. It will also set you back when you are a recovering lazyholic. Never has it felt so wonderful to go to bed early. Those to-do lists and boxes I still need to unpack are gathering dust in the process. How could something so right feel so wrong?
